We have launched a new feature in our core product, the NOVO PM module, for monitoring properties from an ESG perspective. It allows you to view each property not from a management perspective, but from the perspective of responsibility and contribution to sustainable development – Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance.
The new functionality enables the classification of properties in the manager’s portfolio from an ESG perspective, highlighting, for example, so-called green properties.
Reporting from an ESG perspective will enable, among other things:
1. locating a given property on Google Maps with all key ESG data (e.g. resource consumption, amenities in the property, number of LED fixtures, green space, outdoor air quality, etc.),
2. analysing received/required certificates (or policies) relating to ESG for properties, together with their expiry dates, which determine whether a building qualifies for GREEN status.
The new functionality also allows you to plan community engagement activities in individual facilities, etc., and enter a description and quantity of resource consumption – e.g. all utilities consumed in the facility (e.g. electricity, water). This will allow you to estimate trends in the consumption of individual utilities in the future and introduce, for example, a policy of gradual reduction.
This functionality was created not only because the need to report certain ESG-related data is imposed by the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive. More and more investors, but above all potential tenants, are looking for green buildings. This stems from environmental responsibility and, at the same time, indicates the possibility of reducing operating costs in leased spaces. Hence, GREEN buildings are becoming more desirable than those without such status, and their managers are becoming more attractive on the commercial real estate market.
